Like most small college libraries, the F&M Library does not collect textbooks -- we recommend trying the EZ Borrow or Interlibrary Loan/ILL service to borrow textbooks from other libraries. (Both services are available to F&M students, faculty, and professional staff.)

EZ Borrow:

  • By trying EZ Borrow, you will know immediately if the book you want is available. 
  • Once you place a request, your book should arrive in 3-5 business days. 
  • You can keep your book for 16 weeks with no renewals, but the owning library can recall any book at any time.

Interlibrary Loan/ILL: 

  • We will make every attempt to borrow textbooks that are more than two years old, and that are widely available.
  • The length of time you would have the book can vary, from four weeks to sixteen weeks -- unfortunately, we have no influence over the length of time another library would lend us a book.

Other options include: renting from the Bookstore, or trying online sources such as Chegg, Slugbooks, or Amazon.
